Is the UK Economy finally improving? Are consumers confident to pay more?

Retail Week Live and Voxpops International took to the streets of London and interviewed a cross section of the British shopping public to find out their opinions as the New Year starts.  Generally they believe the British economy is finally improving, but they were cautiously optimistic and realistic in their outlook. A third of those we interviewed said they would spend more money now, over a third said it was the same as last year and the rest said less. However people still actively look for bargains.
