Hugh Jackman is Wolverine no more, the actor confirmed in November. However, Walt Disney Co. acquired most of 21st Century Fox in 2017, which means that Marvel classics like Wolverine and X-Men might be rebooted. They just might not feature their original actors.

Earlier, you saw the clawed ‘X-Men’ with an MCU-like treatment. Who might fill in the shoes of the character is still open for interpretation, though, and renowned fan artist BossLogic has accepted the challenge to… picture an unexpected Zac Efron as successor to Jackman.

The amused illustrator describes that despite his reimaginations of other actors as the character, “a few commented they only want Zac Efron.”

The final result shows Efron, aged decades older, in a contemplative stance quintessential of ‘Wolverine’, and he admittedly looks the part.

Efron starred opposite Jackman in The Greatest Showman, and will next appear on-screen as serial killer Ted Bundy at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
