Joe Russo, director of upcoming Avengers 4 has revealed that the future of the MCU will include ‘X-Men’ and ‘Deadpool’.
Joe and Anthony Russo spoke about the MCU’s future at Business Insider’s IGNITION Conference, and they were asked if characters like ‘X-Men’ and ‘Deadpool’ could be a part of the franchise, of which they answered yes.
Joe said he is certain Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will incorporate the new characters into the Marvel realm. Though the Russo brothers haven’t had any confirmation from the head of Marvel himself, he is positive that these characters will appear on the big screens along with other Marvel superheroes.
Joe also mentioned there will be more Avengers films in the future, once these new characters have been purchased from Fox. However, please note that these are still rumors and even if Feige confirms it, Marvel might “take their time” integrating ‘Deadpool’ and ‘X-Men’ into future films.
Feige however, told Uproxx that he’s too busy to think about that possibility. He said he hasn’t given it much thought yet until he has been given the green light equipped with concrete storylines and characters, so don’t get too excited just yet.
